** INTOUCHABLES **
...Sign of lesson: There are always stumbling blocks on the
way, but never try to give up.
Directors: Olivier Nakache, Eric Toledano
Stars: François Cluzet, Omar Sy, Anne Le Ny
The whole story was smoothly narrated but kindly impressive,
and it’s so catchy and inspiring. Maybe in symbol of something
optimistic; meanwhile, it was just so properly good for me,
because I have been really in need of some more stimulants
currently.
Undoubtedly, as well as sort of cliché but so true that life will
go on, and I have to move on along, but with so much wonderful
encouragements and people who expect much from you; then
why not just make a belief for my own sake, no matter which
direction it'll lead: Que sera sera!!!
** THE WHISTLEBLOWER **
...Sign of lesson: There is always someone suffered in the
hell, but never lose faith.
A drama based on the experiences of Kathryn Bolkovac, a
Nebraska cop who served as a peacekeeper in post-war
Bosnia and outed the U.N. for covering up a sex scandal.
Director: Larysa Kondracki
Stars: Rachel Weisz, Monica Bellucci, Vanessa Redgrave
When peacekeeping is conducted inhumanely, violently,
brutally and maybe disgustingly, no peace would be rebuilt,
no justice would be realized, no humanity could be raised,
and no one could ever be resettled.
The UN should be ashamed of this scandal, and the whole
international community should be responsible for the fucked
up tolerance. Truly, shame on R2P!
** THE LUCKY ONE **
...Sign of lesson: Follow the destiny, and believe you might
be the lucky one.
A Marine travels to Louisiana after serving three tours in
Iraq and searches for the unknown woman he believes was
his good luck charm during the war.
Director: Scott Hicks
Stars: Zac Efron, Taylor Schilling, Blythe Danner
This one is not so much surprise, but the actors are beautiful,
particularly Efron, but the story is too romantic to convince.
Anyway, it's still successful as a distraction for me to let go
some distress and relief for my haunting nightmare with its
great name - the Lucky One - that I think I'm really lucky to
the one who will survive with inestimably caring and loving
people besides me.
I should be the lucky one, and that's what I'm always thankful
and grateful for.
** THE HELP **
...Sign of lesson: Changes should be taken, when they are
so needed.
An aspiring author during the civil rights movement of the
1960s decides to write a book detailing the African-American
maids' point of view on the white families for which they
work, and the hardships they go through on a daily basis.
Director: Tate Taylor
Stars: Emma Stone, Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer
People always have sympathy, compassion and faith, though
they are sometimes flawed in conscience, because they don't
understand they had those of kindness in virtues.
I believe that as I always hold that once people realize what
they lack in minds and nature, they'll rectify the situations in
which the wrongs were resulted from, and that's why we're
called by ourselves as human beings, since we need to live in
dignity, freedom and fairness. When we lose one of them, we'll
definitely fight them back, either aggressively or implicitly;
then here, courage means something more than simply being
brave, but also being wise.
** THE AVENGERS **
...Sign of lesson: Courage wins a fight, and persistence always
determines.
Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D. brings together a team of super
humans to form The Avengers to help save the Earth from
Loki and his army.
Director: Joss Whedon
Stars: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson,
Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner
The Avengers rock the Manhattan Island: Hulk got strength
and high EQ, Iron man got courage and intelligence, Hawkeye
got skills and strategy, Black Widow got responsiveness and
eloquence, Thor got immortality and supranational powers,
Captain America got calmness and leadership, as well as the
S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic, Hazard Intervention, Espionage Logistics
Directorate) got masterminds and high-tech facilities.
What is the coolest: all of these are just what a super team need,
so no wonder even an army of Aliens would be defeated.
